Carolyn V. Hedeen, 72, of Parker, Colorado, died December 5th 2012 after her heroic battle with ovarian cancer.
Carolyn V. Hedeen was born January 25th 1940 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Carl and Mildred (Shuffett) Vincent.
She is survived by her spouse, the love of her life, Earl (Bill) Hedeen, her children; Steve and Kimberly Stonestreet, Jay and Allison Harrison, Peter Hedeen and Catherine Chan, Jeremy and Kristyn Booth, her grandchildren; Storm Stonestreet, Madison Stonestreet, Audra Harrison, Race Harrison, Clay Booth, Ava Booth, Kiyan Hedeen and Kameron Hedeen. She is also survived by her siblings; Carl (Jack) Vincent, Lois Boley, Marilyn Jo Evans, Thomas Vincent and Alvena Vincent who admired her always and remained very close.
Among her many professions and accomplishments she enjoyed most her experiences as a fashion model, a commercial pilot, a restaurant manager, an event planner, a country club manager and as an active civic volunteer in her many and varied organizations.
Carolyn collected friends; loving and learning from each one regardless of their culture, race, religion, social or economic status, sexual orientation, or their political leanings; cherishing each individual.
She also loved Key West Florida, the Mountains of Colorado, the deer and fox that frequent her yard in The Pinery, white water rafting, diving, gardening, reading, cooking and old hotels.
As the wife of a police chief, she kept him grounded and well supplied with common sense and sage advice which seemed surprising, considering her fantastic sense of humor and her penchant for wringing every drop of enjoyment out of everything she did.
Carolyn's children, whom she did not limit to biological children, greatly admired her strength, grace, dignity and ability to live life to its fullest.
Carolyn was an active and important force in the lives of her grandchildren whom she felt kept her young. She took great joy in knowing the grandkids relish telling their many friends about experiences with their grandmother whom they assured was NOT your regular everyday grandmother, she was their CarCar.
Carolyn lived and loved well. She will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the PACE Center (Parker Arts Culture & Events Center) in Parker Colorado, Sunday, December 16th from 4:30 to 6:30pm.
An additional Celebration for all of her Midwest friends will be held in Macomb Illinois on January 25, 2013 at a location yet to be determined.
