Carrie Leola Wideman Bussey, 93, of Aurora, passed away May 12, 2016.
She was born December 26, 1922 in Greenwood, North Carolina, the daughter of Fred and Pearl Wideman. Carrie had one brother and three sisters. She lived and attended school in South Carolina, graduating from high school with honors. At the age of 19 she moved to Michigan – first to Detroit, then later to Inkster. On December 29, 1949 she entered into holy matrimony to Luther Bussey, of Detroit, Michigan. She was a faithful wife, mother and grandmother.
She was employed at Veterans Administration Hospital. She was an active member of St. Clements Episcopal Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star Leah Chapter 43.
When Carrie's health began to decline she moved to Aurora, Colorado to live with her daughter, Lutheretta Cheeseboro.
Carrie is survived by five children, Luther Bussey, Theodosia Peacock, Cornelia Daniels, Lutheretta (Clinton) Cheeseboro, and Rhonda Harris; thirteen grandchildren, David Peacock, Dawn (Kevin) Blair, Dale Peacock, Mark Peacock, Andrea Caire, Michael Daniels, Kimberly (Will) Canty, Antionette (Donald) Booker, Kevin (Gladys) Cheeseboro, Sebrena Cheeseboro, Kent (Katrell) Cheeseboro, Nicole Harris, and Tom Harris, Jr.; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Goodwin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Bussey; son, Carver Bussey, grandson, Daniel Peacock; parents, Fred and Pearl Wideman; and siblings, Ruth, Helen, and Clayton Wideman.
