Catherine Fieldman

December 15, 1917 — December 7, 2011

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Elizabeth Stewart Fieldman, wife, mother, grandmother, friend on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, she lived with her parents and two brothers for a short period of time before moving back to Ireland. The family later moved back to Canada finally settling in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where she enjoyed many wonderful days at the beach with her brothers before loosing her father at age 14. She later joined the Air Force as a sergeant during WWII. After the war she met her husband Harold to whom she was married for 62 years. She and Harold lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Ellensburg, Washington before finally making their home in Lakewood, Colorado. She worked for Sears in the Westland Shopping Center before retiring in 1984. She loved new adventures and enjoyed traveling to places like Saudi Arabia, Australia and the Caribbean. She also enjoyed attending many reunions of the RCAF Women's Corp throughout Canada and staying in touch with many she served with up until her death. She was an active member of the Denver Curling Club receiving the prestigious First Stone Award for promoting curling in Colorado. She is survived by her children; son Stewart Fieldman and wife Rita, daughter Janice Luse and husband Harold, son James Fieldman and wife Dianne, daughter Bonnie Allen and husband Rod. She is also survived by grandchildren; Patrick Fieldman, Gary Fieldman, Russell Anderson, Sean Allen, Kyle Allen, Courtney Fieldman, and Brooke Fieldman.
