Catherine (Catie) Ann Madden, 68, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on December 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Born in Stoughton, Wisconsin on August 25, 1956, to James and Rita Madden, Catie lived a life filled with creativity, kindness, and adventure. She devoted many years of her life to helping others as a skilled and compassionate respiratory therapist. Catie was a talented singer and songwriter, and loved her time performing in a band, and with friends and family members over the years. She was an artist at heart, and a true lover of nature. Her adventurous soul led her down many paths, each one lit by her warmth, humor, and hardworking spirit. She touched the lives of many with her generous heart, quick wit, and the kind of presence that made people feel truly seen.

She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her beloved children Sarah (Jason) and Dillon (Natalie); her adored grandchildren Kyler, Walker, Austin, Cameron, Brody, Braxton, and Jackson; her siblings Dan (Kim), John (Annette), Guy (Karen), Mary, and Timothy; and many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. at 16096 W. 84th Lane, Arvada, Colorado. Friends and family are welcome to gather with us to share photos and stories. Food, drink and music will of course be a part of celebrating Catie.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Catie's name to an organization that supports gynecologic cancer patients throughout Colorado: Sue’s Gift, 525 North Cascade Avenue, Suite #213, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 or online at suesgift.org.

“Each one of us will face at some time in our life our own immortality. Let's just hope you've lived your life in such a way to have beautiful weaving threads connecting to those great souls you've encountered along the paths you've chosen.”
