She was born May 2, 1939 in Mississippi, the daughter of G. C. Russell and Armetta Bentley Russell.
Catherine is survived by her husband of 45 years, Johnnie Thomas; son, Eric M. Thomas; son, James Earl Lampkin; son, Brian Lampkin; 3 granddaughters; 2 sisters, Shirley Windham and Louise Frison and 3 brothers, Henry Lee Russell, Eddie Ray Russell and George Russell and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Lampkin; her parents; 1 sister, Christine Hardison and 2 brothers, Calvin Russell and George Charles Russell.
