Cecil B. Morehouse
90 Years Old
Wheat Ridge, CO
Cecil sadly passed away as the sole surviving child (out of 6) of William Newell and Mary Gerdelia (Arnold) Morehouse. As a barefoot farm boy in Belvidere, NE, he delivered milk from his wagon door-to-door for the family dairy farm. The Great Depression forced the closing of the school, ending his formal education after the fifth grade.
He moved to Omaha, NE at age 16 to work for his father's W.N. Morehouse Truck Line, which is still in operation, relocating to Denver, CO to manage the branch office in 1952. Prior to his official retirement in 1982, he also sold cars for Roger Mauro Chrysler in Lakewood, CO.
Married multiple times, he spent his final 30+ years with his caring companion, Mae Gardner. He is survived by four children: Cecil Jr. (Denise) of Centennial, CO; Christine of St. Paul, MN; Larry (Tricia) of Wheat Ridge, CO; and Jeffrey (Pam) of Lakewood, CO. He teased and loved his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who found him to be a remarkably tough old coot, with a penchant for blue language. A man's man, a ladies' man, but in the end, unmanned by Alzheimer's disease.
