Cecilia Bandrowsky, age 92, was born on July 17, 1933, in Coalport, Pennsylvania. She passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, with her cherished dog, Abby, faithfully by her side.
Cecilia lived a life centered on faith, family, love, and caring for others. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, generosity, and the quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.
For the past 42 years, Cecilia made her home in Littleton, Colorado. Before settling there, she and her devoted husband, Steve, shared many chapters of life together in Coalport, York and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Akron, Ohio; Naperville and Hickory Hills, Illinois; and Yorba Linda, California. Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Steve Bandrowsky; her parents, Joseph and Agnes Leyo; and her brother, Joseph Leyo.
Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. Cecilia found comfort and strength in daily prayer, especially through the Rosary, which she faithfully prayed each day. She lived her faith through simple acts of kindness, humility, compassion, and service to others.
Known lovingly as “Toots,” “Nana,” and “Miss Toots,” Cecilia found joy in life’s everyday moments. She loved cooking and baking and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome in her home. Whether she was tending her roses, preparing a family meal, baking a fresh apple pie, or carefully managing the household finances, she approached everything with care, thoughtfulness, and love.
Cecilia loved traveling and exploring new places with family and friends, delighting in simple pleasures along the way. She especially enjoyed shopping, happily browsing for hours and finding joy in small treasures rather than extravagance. Creative and talented with her hands, she devoted time to needlework, knitting, and crochet, crafting heartfelt keepsakes that will be cherished for years to come.
Cecilia believed deeply in responsibility, hard work, and thoughtful planning. Disciplined in her daily life, she was humble and generous, giving out of compassion, purpose, and a sincere desire to help those she loved and the causes she held dear.
To know Cecilia was to know a steady and loving presence. She created a home filled with warmth, comfort, and care — a place where family and friends always felt welcomed, valued, and nourished.
Though Cecilia is no longer with us in person, her presence lives on in the meals shared around the table, the gardens lovingly tended, the prayers faithfully offered, and the quiet acts of generosity she modeled every day. Her life reminds us that love is often found in the small, everyday moments that hold a family together.
Above all else, Cecilia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her love for her family was constant and unwavering. She is survived by her sons, Timothy (Rosalba) Bandrowsky and Stephen (Cindy) Bandrowsky, who will continue to carry forward the values, traditions, and lessons she taught simply by the way she lived. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gina Bandrowsky, Jenny Bandrowsky, Laura Bandrowsky, Stephen Bandrowsky, and Christopher Bandrowsky; her great-grandchildren, Logan Wegner, Eleanor Bandrowsky, and Emerson Daniels; along with her sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages honoring Cecilia’s memory through an act of kindness, a donation to a charity that supports those in need, or contributions to Catholic Charities of Denver or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A Rosary Service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Light of the World Roman Catholic Church, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. The church is located at 10316 W. Bowles Avenue, Littleton, Colorado 80127. Burial will take place privately later that afternoon.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever a part of the lives she touched and shaped.
“May the angels lead her into paradise, may the saints welcome her with open arms, and may she rest forever in the peace and love of God. Amen.”
