Chade J Koons

Chade was born in Denver on April 26th 1969. He grew up in Northglenn Colorado and graduated from Northglenn High School in 1987. He went on to do several jobs working with his hands from hanging drywall to installing utilities for new houses and ultimately working his way up the ranks with The City of Thornton to Traffic Engineer, a job he truly enjoyed.

In 1989 he met Melody Higgs. He was very loving and respectful and treated her with kindness and tenderness. Chade and Melody went on to marry on May 18, 1991 and spent many happy years together building their family.

In 1992 their son Austin was born. He was daddy's little boy from the moment they met. Austin loved spending time with his dad and Chade couldn't get enough of his baby boy. It was the start of a bond that no one could ever break.

On December 29th 1994 Chade and Melody welcomed their beautiful little girl Alissa. She had her daddy wrapped around her little finger from the very beginning. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his baby girl.

Chade was a family man first and foremost. His family was the most important thing in his life. It didn't matter where he was or what he was doing, if his family needed him he would be there. He was there for all of us, his kids, his mom and dad, his wife, brother, sister, whoever needed him could always count on him. He always put everyone before himself. He was not just a dad to his kids, he was their best friend. He was always there for them if they needed to talk, needed advice, or needed help with anything. He was an amazing dad and always enjoyed spending time with his kids.

Chade made many friends. He was the kind of man who never met a stranger. Everyone who was lucky enough to have known him loved him. He would always be there for his friends to lend a helping hand or to put a smile on their faces.

Chade had many hobbies. He loved hunting with his dad when he was young. After he had children of his own he spent his time camping with the family, riding ATV's and attending his children's sporting events. Chade was always there to cheer his kids on and even volunteered to help coach their teams. He was a very involved dad and he was very proud of his children and all of their accomplishments. His children have grown up to be very kind and compassionate just like their father.

When his daughter Alissa asked her dad to play on a roller hockey team with her he immediately said yes and they had so much fun together. He also enjoyed going to the gym with his son Austin and competing to see who could lift the most weight.

Chade took pride in taking care of his Tahoe and his Harley. They were always clean and well cared for. He loved to go out riding his Harley whenever he had spare time. He rode most weekends with his dad or his friends. His son recently purchased a motorcycle and Chade was so excited to have that additional bond with him.

Chade always had a smile on his face. He was always happy it was contagious. He could light up a room as soon as he walked in. He will be missed very much by all who knew him, but we know he will be watching over us always.

Chade is survived by his wife, Melody Koons; daughter, Alissa M. Koons; son, Austin T. Koons; father, Kenny Koons; mother, Elsie McClanahan; step-mother, Jan Koons; step-brother, Chuck Britton; step-sister, Tami Deges; also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

There will be a reception immediately following the memorial at Gate N Green Clubhouse, 13405 Main St., Broomfield, CO 80020.
