Charles Edward Mutters (1951-2026)
Charles Edward Mutters, 75, of Northglenn, Colorado, died of natural causes at Kernersville State Veteran’s Home in Kernersville, North Carolina on March 15, 2026. He was surrounded by family.
He was born in Man, West Virginia in 1951 to Ballard Mutters and Genevive (Brown) Mutters. Charles lived his childhood in Man and Apopka, Florida before enlisting in the Air Force where he worked as an avionics engineer at (then) K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan and also served as an instructor. Charles later settled in Northglenn, Colorado with his family where he studied at Regis University and worked at IBM in Lafayette, Colorado for most of his career.
Charles was a deeply devoted and loving husband to wives Mary and Lexia, father to daughter Heather, and grandfather to Trevor (Zandra), Robert, Roze Tyler, and Hadden.
Of all the things Charles took pride in, his family was the greatest. He loved travel, gambling, air shows, cruises, and hot air balloon festivals and loved dragging anyone he could get to go with him.
Charles is survived by daughter Heather A. (Chris) Ott, brother Keith B. Mutters, wife Lexia A. Frasher, Four Grandchildren, Trevor J. (Zandra) Sakach, Robert S. Ott, Roze A. Ott (Tyler), and Hadden A. Ott, Four Great-grandchildren, Liam B. Sakach, Colt B. Sakach, Melanie G. Sakach, and Lainey M. Sakach, as well as many nieces, and nephews - all of whom he loved deeply.
He was preceded in death by Wife Mary C (Meredith) Mutters, Mother Genevive (Brown), Father Ballard, Sister Linda, Brother Mark, and many other close relatives.
Charles was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. In the darkest of times, Charles was the best to have by your side. He could find a way to bring light to any situation - even making fun of his own condition near the end. Charles loved a good bargain and turned frugality and investing into a game. Most of all, he absolutely loved being generous and affectionate to “his girls” - Heather, Mary, and Lexia, and his grandchildren.
