Charles A. Patton, fondly known as Charlie or Chuck, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in Denver on January 14, 2026, at the age of 75.
Charlie was born and raised in Colorado, and after high school, played on a football scholarship at then named Western State College of Colorado. His career was marked by hard work and determination mainly in trucking, warehousing and logistics. First working alongside family at US Transfer, and then later in life with UPS for over 15 years before settling in for retirement.
Charlie was not just a dedicated worker, he had an unwavering commitment to his family. His selflessness was evident in the care he provided to his beloved mother, Lucille. He personally provided the best care possible while at home, exemplifying the love and devotion he carried in his heart, until he was no longer able to do so. Then he transitioned to staying with her daily to share meals and just spend time together.
Charlie had many interests and was always trying new things. He spent untold hours with his family playing pool and listening to a wide variety of music in their basement. When outdoors, he could be cycling, riding motorcycles, hiking, camping, skiing, golfing, or his long-time favorite – fishing. He never shied away from bringing family and friends into his hobbies either, often with much laughter and memorable stories.
He was a man who embraced life with a brave heart, unafraid to try new things, with moments of spontaneity and passion that reminded everyone around him of his zest for life and a family connection.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lucille, as well as his brothers Randy and Raymond. Chuck leaves behind a community that will forever remember him for his warmth and generosity.
Arriving at Mt. Olivet from the East (cemetery on your right), pass the main entrance and enter at the 2nd entrance. Pull in and move to the right side of the road and park there (across from a large white building on the left). A cemetery guide vehicle will provide an escort for the hearse upon arrival, and guests will then follow to the gravesite.
