Charles T. Stinson

Charles Stinson, born February 8, 1923, passed from our sight on December 6, 2013. The son of Charlie and Clara Stinson, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Stinson, daughter, Linda Davis, his parents, his brother Ralph Stinson, sister Vernice Wehmer and sister Hilda Foutch. He is survived by his daughters Mary Ellen Brown and husband Gary Brown, and grandson Charles and granddaughter Erin of Round Rock, Texas, Elaine Stinson and granddaughter Lorel Ohnstad and great-grandson Luke, of Lakewood, Colorado and granddaughter Judy Edie and husband Stephen Edie.

Charles married Mary Jo Wehrle on August 30, 1943. They were high school classmates, and had their first date July 30, 1940. Charles went to work for The Texas Company in Salem, Illinois in 1943 where Mary Jo was already employed. He was transferred to Texaco's office in Denver, Colorado in 1970, and retired in 1986 after 43 years service in the Comptrollers Department.

Charles was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church and the St. Jude Prime Timer organization, the Mile High Texaco Retirees, the Mile High Vintage Chevrolet Club and the Lakewood Civil War Round Table.

His hobbies included photography, woodwork refinishing, antique automobile restoration; his joy was a 1928 Chevrolet, computer, the Civil War in which his Great Grandfather was a private, and genealogy. He was especially consumed with genealogy research in his later years, concentrating on both his and Mary Jo's family history.
