Robert Michael Quinn came into this world on November 7th, 1952. Robert was born in Bridgeport, Nebraska, to Avis (Reed) and Bernard Quinn. He passed away on July 4th, 2025. His wife, Patricia, was by his side for better, for worse, in sickness, and in health, for more than 50 years and gently held his hand as he peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus, his savior. Robert is survived by his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his sister, and dozens of extended family members across the country.
Robert (Bob) spent his life honoring, loving, and sacrificing for others. From his unfaltering love for his wife to his dedication as a father, from his nearly 40 years in the Air Force both active and reserve to his years serving on the Bennett Fire Department as a fireman, as chief, and as a rescue squad EMT to his service to other veterans through his time with the VFW and other support organizations, he gave freely of himself with strength and integrity. Most importantly, throughout his life, he led others to a saving knowledge and relationship with Jesus and that legacy will continue.
We invite you to share memories as we reflect on a man who honored the Lord with a life well-lived. From childhood days in Nebraska to enlisting as the draft was announced, from basic training in the Air Force to early fatherhood days leading AWANA and playing at the pool, to mid-years sneaking over to the firehouse to bake his wife a birthday cake or participating in full-house water fights, to later days where he played silly games with grandchildren, Bob was wholehearted in his endeavors and always willing to support and love those around him. He served our county in nearly every state in the union and in more countries than most of us can name. Bob touched hearts and lives through intelligence and humor in a profound way and will be greatly missed.
From our family: Years ago, dad left some instructions that gave us a glimpse of that sly humor even as he prepared as much as he could, once again, to take care of others even when he was gone. He started with his welcome to the world by a ‘wack on the ‘ole rearend’ and included his hope for us looking forward to Heavenly hugs and laughs. We can’t express enough our gratitude for the impact each and every person had on our dad. We know how much he loved you all and, although he didn’t have time to do so, he talked often about writing a letter to every person wanting to express the special bonds he had, the memories he had, and the love he had for each of you. We are so thankful for his impact on each of us and appreciate the love and support everyone has given us.
