Christel G. Jones

Christel G. Jones, 82, of Highlands Ranch, passed away August 13, 2017.

Chris began her life story on July 15, 1935 in Berlin, Germany. An unfortunate accident took the lives of her birth parents when she was an infant and she was adopted and raised by Ewald and Erna (Chableske) Von Wehlke.

On March 1, 1956, she married Freddie Jones, of Winnsboro, Louisiana. Shortly thereafter, she moved to the United States where she gained her citizenship on October 4, 1971. As the wife of a U.S. Army serviceman, Chris moved from Germany to California, then on to Missouri. Upon retirement from the military, her husband moved the family to New Mexico then finally to Colorado where she lived the rest of her life.

Chris is survived by two children, Claudia (Michael) Dinwiddie and Patrick (Jill) Jones; four grandchildren, Andrea (Jeff) Godwin, Dwayne (Amy) Jones, Zachery Jones, and J.P. Jones; two great-grandchildren, Brooke Godwin and Olivia Jones. She is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Jones; son, Freddie Jones, Jr.; and parents, Ewald and Erna Von Wehlke.
