Christina Yates, an enchanting spirit who danced through life with a captivating blend of humor and grace, left us on December 26, 2025, in Denver, Colorado, where she was born on March 22, 1953. She graced the fashion world as a model, showcasing her unique flair on both print and runway platforms, and basked in the glow of her proudest accomplishment—landing a coveted spot on the cover of Mademoiselle Magazine. This remarkable achievement underscored her vibrant persona and charisma that drew others to her.
Known affectionately as Blondie, Christina possessed a heart that was truly golden. Those fortunate enough to know her often reminisced, "Oh that Tina," evoking smiles and laughter, as her piercing wit and shrewd humor had a way of brightening even the dullest days. In her interactions, she was goofy, lighthearted, and full of life, striking a perfect balance among the serious and silly moments that define our journeys.
Christina was also a dedicated caregiver, pouring her love and compassion into looking after her elderly parents, Katherine and Howard Yates, until their last days. Her loving nature extended beyond human companionship; she cherished her animals—her dog Boomer and Pretty Boy the bird—pouring out stories that often recounted the day's events through their eyes, demonstrating her vivid imagination and nurturing spirit.
An alumnus of Cherry Creek High School, she was steeped in the culture and camaraderie of her Denver community.
Survived by her adoring sisters, Marta Yates and Lisa Hornafius (Scott), along with her vibrant nieces, Katherine Henley, Hayley Hornafius and Jennifer Donahue, as well as her great-niece Vera Rose Henley and great-nephews Remy Scott Henley, Aidan and Mclean Donahue. The profound impact Christina made will resonate in the hearts of those who knew her—a legacy of laughter, love, and compassion. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will linger on—an everlasting reminder of a life lived colorfully and without reserve.
