Clara Elizabeth McKee (Rodgers)

December 1, 1941 – August 3, 2026

Clara Elizabeth McKee (Rodgers) of Commerce City, Colorado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, Aug. 3rd, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. She was 84.

Clara was born in Fort Snelling, Minnesota, on Dec. 1, 1941, to Johnny and Cornelia Rodgers. Her father was a sergeant in the Army at Fort Snelling, and her family moved to many different cities before settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where her father was stationed at Fort Carson Army Base. They finally made their home in Aurora, Colorado, where she grew up, attended Aurora Central High School, and met the love of her life, Delbert McKee.

They were married on April 4, 1959, and moved to Commerce City, where they eventually started their family. Trudy Lynne was born in December 1961, and Melanie Diane was born in 1963. Clara resided in Commerce City for over 65 years.

Clara was a loving, kind, devoted, and compassionate mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and loved sewing, cooking, home decorating, and gardening in between taking part in all of her daughters’ activities. Eventually, her grandchildren — Nicole, Ryan, Chad, Samantha, and Brett — and great-grandchildren — Wayland, Gemma, and Caden — became her universe. Rarely did she miss a ballgame, birthday, or family event.

Clara was a very active and involved member of many groups and organizations, including the Commerce City Active Adult Center, where she served on the advisory committee, and the Young at Heart group, where she served on the property management committee.

Clara will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Clara is survived by: Trudy Boudreau, daughter (Gary), Melanie Brunken, daughter (Tom), Nicole Havengar, granddaughter (Curtis), Ryan Boudreau, grandson (Hannah), Chad Boudreau, grandson (Maygen), Samantha Brunken, granddaughter (Sean), Brett Brunken, grandson, Wayland Boudreau, great-grandson, Caden Havengar, great-grandson, Gemma Noll, great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert McKee; her brother, Thomas Ladely; and her parents, Johnny and Cornelia Rodgers.
