Claude "Gene" Meskel, 85, of Aurora, passed away August 23, 2015.
He was born June 2, 1930 in Lebanon, South Dakota, the son of John and Nellie (Beaudoin) Meskel. As a toddler, the family moved to Portland Oregon. He joined the US Army and served in Panama his first tour and in the Korea Conflict his second tour. He was medically retired stationed at Fitzsimmons in Denver, Colorado. He was instrumental in founding St Pius X Church. He worked all his life as an Electrical Inspector with high security clearance.
Gene is survived by his children, Laura Ellen Meskel, Michael (Cathy) Meskel, Melinda (Scott) Ford, Martin (Bridget) Meskel, Maria (Darrell) Pfluger; daughter-in-law, Pamela Meskel; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three siblings, Margaret Loos, Mary Pat Denton, John (Helen) Meskel; and brother-in-law, Jim Harris. He is preceded in death by his children, Connie Meskel and Patrick Meskel; the love of his life, Judith Meskel; parents John J. and Nellie M. Meskel and step-mother Mary Meskel; siblings William Meskel, Lois Meskel, Marlene Satterfield, and Joyce Harris.
