Clayton B. Stout, 83, of Aurora, passed away July 3, 2016.
He was born March 13, 1933 in Chariton, Iowa, the son of Cleo and Ina (Loney) Stout.
Clayton served in the U.S. Navy from October 1952 until September 1956. He was a Yeoman 2nd Class Petty Officer in charge of ship's office administration and personnel. He served in Korea, Japan, Alaska, Hawaii-Pacific and all major west coast areas.
He was a graduate of Chariton High School. He attended American Institute of Business and William Jewell College.
In 1958 he worked for RCA as a Staff Clerk on missile tracking ships on San Salvador and Andros Islands. This job consisted of clerical and procurement of parts of Engineering at Patrick Air Force Base and shipping and receiving for down range stations.
In 1966 he moved to Denver and worked in the Sports Department at Sears. While working for Prudential Insurance Company he sold insurance and Mutual Funds.
In 1969 he became a brick/block mason and worked for Wood Brothers, Hutchison Homes, and S&E Masonry over the next ten years. On December 22, 1973 he married Ida Mauch, of Denver, Colorado. In 1979 he was self-employed doing brick and cement finish work, driveways, sidewalks, fireplaces, chimney repair and retaining walls.
Clayton enjoyed collecting coins and attending coin shows in various cities around the country.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Ida Stout; daughter, Marianne Phipps; son, David Stout; grandchildren, David Paul, Courtney, and Corrieanne Stout; and two nephews and a niece. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Ina Stout and sister, Cleola Besco.
Per Clayton's wishes, no services will be held. There will be a public viewing from 9:30am-10:30am on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Aurora. He will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
