Clement Eugene McKeon was born February 5, 1928 in Girardville, PA to Eugene and Margaret McKeon. He was the middle of three brothers, the older Eugene, and the younger, James.
Following a mine collapse, the family moved to New Jersey. Clem spent the majority of his childhood in Elizabeth, NJ where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1945 lettering in football and baseball. Upon graduation, Clem enlisted in the Marines at the age of 17 and was sent to Kiomoto Japan. After an honorable discharge, Clem attended Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland where he played football. He graduated in 1951 with a degree in Economics and went to work for Gracelines.
He married Marilyn Burker on June 1, 1957 and the couple moved to Union, NJ where they raised 5 children: Jenny, Chuck, Frank, Mick and Tim. Clem was a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus, an usher at Holy Spirit Parish, a Boy Scout Scoutmaster and a baseball coach. In 1974 the family moved to Colorado. He coached both football and baseball and coached the baseball team to two county championships.
After leaving WR Grace, Clem worked at Uranerz USA and in his retirement continued working at the post office. Clem attended the weddings of all five children and was able to welcome many grandchildren. In his later years, Clem enjoyed visiting the fire stations, watching his grandchildren play sports, rooting on the Rockies and of course the annual hunting trip that came to be known as camping with guns.
