Colleen Cain, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted Christian, passed away on May 31, 2026, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 78. Born on November 16, 1947, in Minden, Nebraska, Colleen's early life was marked by her father’s work with the Department of Transportation, which led her family to move an incredible 62 times. Ultimately, her journey brought her to Denver in 1969, following her first husband's job opportunity with Lang Ski Boots. Later, she discovered a cherished love with Gilbert Cain, her second husband, with whom she shared 32 years of marriage until his passing in 2025.

Colleen’s life was a testament to resilience, grace, and a steadfast commitment to her family and faith. She earned her Associates Degree and began her professional life working in secretarial roles before rising to the position of General Manager at a manufacturing company, a role she held with pride until her retirement. Throughout her career and personal life, Colleen maintained a pristine appearance, reflective of her gentle and sweet nature.

Her family was the heart of her world. She was especially proud of her son, Troy Mann, and her three grandsons—Tucker, Tanner, and Turner Mann. The bond she shared with them was deep and loving, made evident in their cherished weekly taco dinners where she would delight in sharing a single Corona, savoring those simple moments. One memory that brought her particular joy was her 75th birthday celebration, where a piñata added laughter and fun, a moment she fondly recalled long after the event. Colleen was surrounded by loving family including her daughter-in-law, Krystal Thompson, her grandchildren Kylee, Eli, Ryker, and Walker, and her sister, Carol Barham, who all carry forward her legacy of love.

Colleen and Gilbert made their home in Joshua, Texas, where they were vibrant members of their Southern Baptist church community. Their faith was a cornerstone of their lives and their devotion extended to ministering to those who were sick and in need, offering comfort and kindness from their hearts. Social gatherings often included spirited games of cards and dominos with church friends, highlighting her love of community and fellowship.

Her final years were shadowed by late stage dementia, a challenge she faced with courage and dignity. Colleen leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories and a family strengthened by her enduring love. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Cain, her sister Connie Chabira, brother Don Kimble Jr., and her parents Doris and Don Kimble.

Colleen Cain’s gentle spirit and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments and resilience but also for the warmth she brought to family, friends, and community. Her legacy endures in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her deeply.
