Connie Sue Matheney

Connie Sue Matheney February 8, 1958-August 2, 2011. Connie was 53. She was a resident of Thornton CO for most of her life.

She went to be with her Lord on Tuesday August 2, 2011. She is survived by her husband, (William)Michael Matheney. Her mother, Helen Fleenor of Thornton. Her brother, Carter (Louise) Meier of Aurora; her sister Lori (Steve) Arbuckle of Centennial: Michael's sisters, Shirley Creger of Arvada and Patty Lyons of Denver. Connie's nephews are Craig (Kristine) Meier of Overbrook, KS, Jason Arbuckle and Conrad Arbuckle both of Centennial CO. Connie's nieces were Mary (Mike) Newby, Angela Lara, Amanda Smith and Lisa Lucas all of Denver, CO. Several others mourn her loss including aunts, uncles, family friends and anyone whose life Connie touched.
Connie was preceded in death by her father, P H Waldemar Meier, Mike's parents Bill and Virginia Matheney, and four brothers.
Connie graduated from Highland High School in 1976 and Parks Business College in 1978. She was confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Northglenn, in 1972 and was a member of Cross Timbers Community Church in Northglenn when she passed away.
Connie valiantly battled cancer for five years with grace, dignity, optimism and unquestioned faithfulness. She may have lost the battle to cancer but she won our hearts, our respect and admiration. She continues to be an inspiration for all those who knew her.
