Consuelo (Connie) Romero, passed away on June 19, 2014 in Denver, Colorado, following a lengthy battle with brain cancer. Consuelo was born in Las Vegas, NM on March 25, 1961. The past 20+ years Consuelo resided in Fort Morgan, CO. Consuelo worked as a health care provider, and later as a substitute teacher. She enjoyed working with people and taking care of others. Her greatest joy was her son Alondis. She is preceded in death by brothers' Floyd Romero and Cecilio Grano, sisters Verona Sena and Maria Helena Romero, and father Jose Eloy Romero. She is survived by husband Dwight Ortiz and son Alondis Ortiz of the family home. She is survived by mother Margarita Romero, Rudy Grano, Luis Grano and wife Carmella, Linda Esquibel and husband Salomon all of Las Vegas, NM. Lillian Domagall and husband Patrick of Denver, CO, Paul Romero and wife Geraldine, Jose Romero and wife Ruth of Albuquerque, Beatrice Guenther and husband Stephen of West Union, Iowa, Eloisa Aldridge and husband Danny of Rio Rancho and Abran Romero of Las Vegas and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation is under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home in Aurora, CO.

Services will take place in Las Vegas, NM. on July 2, 2014 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Rosary @9:00AM, service @10:00AM. Burial @ Mount Calvary, followed by a reception at the VFW on Mills Ave .
