Craig Scott Brian, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2026, in Lakewood, Colorado, surrounded by his family. Born on June 12, 1943, in Warren, Pennsylvania, Craig lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering love for those around him.

A Vietnam veteran, Craig served his country with distinction as a Captain in the United States Air Force. His commitment to service extended beyond the military, as he devoted many years to his career as a security officer at Black Hawk Casino, where his presence was a steady, reassuring force to all who knew him.

Known for his good sense of humor and genuine kindness, Craig left lasting impressions wherever he went. Even in his final days, he touched the hearts of his nurses, building friendships that spoke to his compassionate spirit. A true family man, he cherished his wife Janet, to whom he was married for 53 loving years, and his children, whom he regarded as his proudest accomplishments. His devotion to Scott, Shane, Kimberly, Tamara, and Sheri was evident in every aspect of his life, and his grandchildren—Roger, Brittany, Joshua, Amber, Brandon, Cameron, De Shay, and Jessica—held a special place in his heart, as did his ten great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Craig’s love extended to his siblings: his sister Joan Thompson and brother Donald Brian, as well as his brothers- and sisters-in-law Larry McDowell (Diane), Jerilyn Mollichoni (Paul), and Kay McDowell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Hazel Brian, his brother Lawrence "Douglas" Brian, sisters-in-law Josie Brian and Lynnelle Brian and a brother-in-law, Gary McDowell.

Beyond family and career, Craig’s passions were many. He found peace and joy in the mountains—a love he nurtured throughout his life. In his youth, he served as a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, instilling values of integrity and community in countless young lives. A devoted sports fan, he proudly followed Denver’s Broncos, Nuggets, and Avalanche, appreciating the spirit and energy of the teams he supported.

Craig Scott Brian’s life was one of service, laughter, gentleness, and profound love. He made friends everywhere he went and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength. While his passing leaves a deep void, those who knew him find comfort in the memories of his gracious nature and the enduring influence of his spirit.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever treasured by all whose lives he touched.
