December 17, 1946 – November 25, 2011

Craig Hugo was born in Boulder, Colorado, the second son of Ken and Doris Hugo, and attended schools in Longmont, Colorado. Craig served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1973 and was stationed in Berlin working for the N.S.A. as a German translator. Following his military service, he attended the University of Colorado, graduating with a degree in Music Education and was a music teacher in the Denver Public Schools for 16 years.

Craig began playing trombone with Your Father's Mustache Band in Denver in 1976 and spent the next 35 years with them. In 1977 he met Peggy Lohr who became his wife and best friend. Their relationship has been filled with love and music since then. Craig and his band played regularly at The Bull & Bush pub in Glendale for over 30 years, and participated in numerous jazz festivals around the U.S. He continued to play his trombone until October 2011. He also loved fishing and golf, and always welcomed company and celebrations.

His mother Doris preceded him in death, and he is survived by his wife Peggy, Aurora, Colorado; his father Ken Hugo (Myrlene), of Sun City, Arizona; brother Tom Hugo (Donna) of Loveland, Colorado; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
