Cristobal Valdez

Cristobal J. "Chris" Valdez passed away surrounded by family at home in his sleep on August 19, 2016.

Chris was born in Trinidad, Colorado on April 27, 1938. He lived in Denver most of his life. He worked for the Denver Public Schools for over twenty-five years.

Chris married his High School Sweetheart, Stella Garcia, on March 8, 1958. They had two children, daughter Linda Lisa Nolen (son-in-law Cliff Nolen) and son Chris Jr. Valdez; two grandsons, Ryan and Brandon Martinez, his only sister, Ruby Ortega and nieces and nephews.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Matilda Lucero Valdez and Paul Valdez; sisters Mary Ann McDonald and Teresa Lopez.

Chris enjoyed spending time with family, playing golf, watching the Denver Broncos playing football, going swimming at the YMCA and traveling.

Chris loved his wife dearly. They were happily married for fifty-eight years. After Chris retired, Chris and Stella traveled all of the time. They enjoyed their life together.

Chris was loved by all. He was a jokester and will be missed by all.
