Mr. Curtis L. Young was born in Edgar, Florida on January 14th, 1929. He was the son of the late Deacon William O. Young of Edgar, Florida and the late Sister Cora L. Young of Johnson, Florida.
At a young age, Curtis served his beloved country by joining the United States Army. He later made the decision to move to New York City, where he would live for several years, before moving to Colorado, which ultimately became home.
His first priority was to serve the Lord; therefore, he made certain to lead a life that embodied service, gratitude, love and honor. These fundamental values were exhibited throughout his entire life. His serving and loving spirit led him to years of gratifying work with young children of the state of Colorado.
He and his loving wife of 35 years, Mrs. Abrehet (Abbey) Young, also ensured that they provided all they could to assist and better their families and surrounding communities.
Anyone who met Curtis, immediately knew of his love and passion for fishing and hunting, as he spent much of his free time on a lake or mountain.
Simply put, Curtis Young was an extraordinary man!
He is survived by his wife Abrehet Young; children, Michael Young, Harry Coles, Alex Michael, Zebib Michael, Selam Michael and Lula Geday; brothers, sister and sister-in-law, James P. Young, Carl D. Young, Ophelia V. Smith and Maza Asghedom, respectively; and a host of family members including nephews, nieces, grandchildren and friends.
