Cindy was born in Greeley, Colorado in 1954 to Bill and Rachel Northway. Her brother Greg followed 6 years later. As a youngster, she and her family moved to Littleton, CO, where she attended Euclid Middle School and Littleton High School. Bill and Rachel worked hard to provide for their family, and Cindy moved back to Greeley to attend the University of Northern Colorado, where she met Rob May, who would become her husband in 1975. Cindy attended school at UNC for two years before entering the workforce, working in many roles, including proof operator and admissions at the University of Denver.
Rob and Cindy experienced many challenges in their efforts to have a family; through the grace and mercy of the Lord and other families, they were able to adopt two daughters, Amber and Lily, whom they both adored very much. Cindy spent the girls’ formative years as a stay-at-home-mom before re-entering the workforce with JoAnn Dare and Cherry Creek Nursery School as a paraprofessional, working her way up to teach preschool. She taught at Cherry Creek Nursery School and its later evolution at Hebrew Educational Alliance for 20 years. She taught hundreds of students through this time and set the foundation for their growth and development. She thoroughly enjoyed working with young children and fostering their learning. When she retired around 2015, she enjoyed bowling weekly with her bowling friends and meeting them for breakfast or lunch once a week.
Today, May 17, 2025, would have been Rob and Cindy’s 50th wedding anniversary. Cindy is survived by Rob, her husband, and two daughters, Amber and Lily, and son-in-law, Eddie.
