Daryl Francis Freel, son of the late Rex and Mary Freel was born in Pleasantville, Iowa on August 20, 1922. He grew up with an older brother, Galen, on the family farm, where he developed a love of the outdoors and a strong work ethic which he carried throughout his life.

He married Dolores Lee Guest in 1947 and they moved to Denver, where he worked for the US Postal Service for 33 years. He was a member of Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family.

Daryl is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dolores; two daughters, Karen and Kathi; two sons-in-law - Bill Powers and Doug Perryman; three grandsons - Jason and Brandon Powers and Brett Bumgardner; their wives - Laney Powers, Jennifer Powers, and Kristin Bumgardner; and three great grandchildren - Ethan and Thea Powers and Aubrey Powers.
