David M. Carrillo, affectionately known to friends and family as Dave, passed away on September 30, 2025, in Lakewood, Colorado, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born on September 17, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, Dave lived a life full of cherished memories and warm connections.
Throughout his life, Dave was known for his remarkable work ethic. His commitment to hard work was evident to all who met him; he approached each task with a seriousness that garnered respect. But beyond his dedication, those who knew him fondly recall a man who was well-liked, funny, and a bit mischievous in his younger years. While he may have appeared quiet at first, Dave had a gruff demeanor that could easily dissolve into warmth and kindness, especially towards his family. He was a caring soul, always willing to lend a helping hand, embodying a spirit of generosity to those around him. His loving nature shone brightly, particularly in his deep devotion to his wife Donna, as he embraced every opportunity to make her feel cherished.
Dave had a passion for life, often found enjoying the outdoors, whether it was camping or fishing. He took delight in the simple joys, like walking in parks and neighborhoods, sharing moments with his beloved dogs, or immersing himself in his favorite football games and rock ’n’ roll music. His interests enriched his life and left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to share those moments with him.
Among his proudest accomplishments, Dave found immense joy in his family. He is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Cheryle, son Troy, grandson Ronald, and siblings George, Frances, Helen, Clara, and Carol. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Delfido and Gregorita Carrillo, as well as his siblings Emma, Raul, and Suzann, who have been waiting to welcome him home.
A celebration of Dave's life will take place on October 22, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, in Denver, Colorado. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance beginning at noon, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM.
