David James Armstrong, 48, of Wheat Ridge CO, died May 5th, 2014.
Services will be held Tuesday May 13th, 2014 at 11:00 am and visitation before the service at 10: am, at the Newcomers Funeral Home (West Metro Chapel) located in Lakewood Colorado.
David was born May 21st, 1965 in Oakland California to parents David Armstrong Senior and Judy Armstrong (which he has now joined in heaven).
He married Melissa Armstrong May 19th, 1991 and they gave birth to their one and only Child David Armstrong the third on February 7th, 1990 here in Colorado.
David had worked at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus for the last 22 years up until December 2013 where he became ill. He loved hockey and was a HUGE Colorado Avalanche fan. He also loved his Oakland Raiders football team. Three words that would best describe David are Strong for he had fought his whole life with the heart condition he was born with. Brave for undergoing and achieving many obstacles that life threw at him, he never quit or gave up, and Radiant, he never whined or complained about anything, he always had his sense of humor and even in hard times he always seemed to smile through it.
David was born with a very rare heart defect (Trilogy of Fallot) and had underwent a 2nd open heart surgery a few years back. Living with trilogy of fallot he has taken many doctors by surprise with how many extra years God had blessed him with.
He is survived by his wife Melissa, his son David, his father David Senior and his four sisters Caroline, Julie, Sherry and Cindy.
We will honor and celebrate his life for he was an amazing, loving and caring man, and the legacy he left behind will live on forever.
