David L. Rodriguez

Rodriguez, David Lee, 69, of Littleton, CO passed away on September 5, 2014. David was a native of Canton, Ohio and was a graduate of Muskingum College and The Ohio State where he studied marketing and received his master's degree. During his graduate studies he was a member of the National Guard where he served in South Korea. It was during this time that he was able to travel the globe and garnered a love for traveling and a curiosity about the world at large.
David met his future wife Beverly when they were both working for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. They were married nine months later in a beautiful church ceremony in Garden City, Michigan. They happily spent their honeymoon traveling through Carmel, San Francisco and Hawaii. The happy couple made their first married home in Houston, Texas. The next 5 years brought work related moves to Kansas City, Washington DC, and Dallas before moving back to Kansas City for the birth of their daughter Nicole in 1979. David and Beverly eventually made their permanent home in Littleton, CO and spent the next 30 years raising their daughter and enjoying time together as a family.
David was an avid reader who once made his way through the 100 best novels ever written and fostered that same love of reading in his daughter who he read to every night. He continued to travel and eventually made it to all 50 states and six of the seven continents. He was a lover of sports and all things pop culture from country music to The Big Lebowski. David was recently teaching himself to speak Spanish and to play the electric guitar.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years Beverly, beloved daughter Nicole, his wonderful son-in-law Luke, and his cherished granddaughter Elle.
Memorial services will be held in the Wasser Chapel of University Park United Methodist Church (2180 S University Blvd. Denver, CO 80210) on Friday, September 12, 2014 at three o'clock in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the youth ministry at University Park United Methodist Church or to the University of Colorado Cancer Center.
