His creativity and passion for food captivated diners and colleagues alike, showcasing not just his culinary skills but also his ability to connect with people through the universal language of cuisine. His gregarious nature made him well respected among his peers, and he formed lasting friendships in the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant scene.
Beyond his culinary artistry, David embraced the beauty of the outdoors. He had a profound love for camping and fishing in the foothills of the Rockies, often seeking solace and adventure among the trees and lakes that defined the enchanting landscapes of Colorado. These moments spent in nature brought him joy and peace, enhancing his zest for life.

He leaves behind a loving brother, Michael Sholts, and three devoted sisters, Carol Sue Evernham, Judy Schmitz, and Melanie Sholts McKinley. David’s nephews Timothy Wong and Joey Coppola, along with his nieces Nicole Wong and Becky Schmitz, will carry forward the fond memories of their uncle who always knew how to bring a smile to their faces.
David’s parents, Suenell and Alfred Sholts, preceded him in death, having laid the groundwork for the vibrant man he became. With their guidance and love, David sprouted into a person who spread kindness and liveliness in every endeavor.
