Deborah Ann Wallace, 76, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 25, 2026.
Deborah was born on July 31, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Richard Garrison Jr. and Doris O. Watts. Deborah was the oldest of her siblings, Darlene Garrison, Denise Salisbury and the late Hillary Garrison.
After graduating from the all-girls Maryland Eastern High School, Deborah pursued a career as a US Army soldier and was stationed in Aurora, Colorado at Fitzsimmons Army Base. This is where she met her lifelong friend Viola Nathan, who introduced Deborah to James Wallace, who would become her husband of 56 years.
Deborah valued family immensely. She often traveled back to Baltimore to visit her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. She was known for packing up her suitcase with large containers of Old Bay seasoning, tasty cakes and anything else she couldn't find in Colorado at the time. One of her fondest memories of Baltimore was bringing her grandchildren there to experience her brother-in-love, Allen's, wonderful cooking on the grill. They talked about that experience for years after!
Deborah's greatest joy was making memories with her family. Whether it was baking with her grandchildren, traveling to the Caribbean, Las Vegas, Maui, or taking a long drive with her daughter Alexis, she truly cherished each opportunity to create a memory.
Deborah had many great personal and professional achievements and milestones. Some of them include: being elected Aurora City Councilwoman and serving as a Civil Service Commissioner.
Known for her love of the color purple, the Baltimore Ravens, her family and friends, Deborah was passionate about reading, volunteering and was always active in her community.
Deborah loved flowers (especially roses), seafood, make-up, shopping, traveling, meeting new people, gardening, and spending time with her granddaughters. Deborah was known for her “Baltimore look”, which meant several things: “don’t try it”, “I don't like that”, “stop that” and “you know better”.
Deborah is survived by her husband James Edward Wallace, daughters Traci and Alexis (Troy), adopted son Bradley, her four granddaughters Brandi, Skylar (Gage), Peyton (Benjamin), Willow, and a great-grandson, Greyson Gage, beloved nieces and nephews, in-laws and endless friends.
We keep Deborah/Nana/Momma/Sister/Auntie/Friend/Confidant in our prayers and hearts as she watches over us and we feel her spirit, love and support.
In honor of Deborah, we welcome guests to join us in wearing shades of white or purple as a tribute to Deborah’s memory.
