Delena Rayleen Maes

Delena Rayleen Maes, affectionately known to many as Dee, was born on December 1, 1995, in Denver, Colorado. She passed away peacefully in Thornton, Colorado, on July 20, 2026, with her family lovingly by her side.

Dee’s life, though far too brief, was filled with a warmth and vibrancy that forever touched those blessed to share in her journey. From her earliest days in Denver, Dee radiated a special energy and compassion that drew people to her. Her laughter could inspire smiles in the darkest of moments, and her resilient spirit was a guiding light to family and friends alike.

Family was always at the very heart of Dee’s world. She was the proud mother of Alicia Sandoval, Sophia Hernandez, Mariah Hernandez, and Liliana Whitman—her beloved daughters, whose joy and wellbeing meant everything to her. To her girls, Dee was not just a mother but a confidante, a teacher, and an unwavering source of encouragement. The lessons she shared, the love she gave, and the warmth of her embrace will echo through their lives always.

Dee was cherished deeply by her mother, Monica Juarez, and her stepfather, Michael Juarez, who together nurtured the close-knit family bonds that meant so much to her. Her father, Carlos Maes, also held a special place in Dee’s heart. Siblings Mateo Maes, Noah Juarez, Maribelle Juarez, Jordyn Smith, Jaelee Bretz, Jesslyn Bretz, and Rosie Maes filled her life with companionship, sibling adventures, and countless unforgettable memories. Each of them, in their own way, shared an unbreakable connection with Dee—one built on affection, laughter, and mutual support.

Dee carried the love and wisdom of her grandparents as she navigated life’s challenges. Her grandmother, Rosalie Esparza, and grandfather, Rafael Esparza, were steadfast sources of wisdom and love that guided her path. Though Dee has now joined her grandfather, Keith Collins, and Crystal Duran in rest, the stories and memories shared with them will forever remain treasures carried by those who loved her.

Dee’s kindness extended to her nieces, nephews, cousins, and all extended family. Whether celebrating joyous milestones or supporting others through difficult times, her presence was a comforting constant.

Those who knew Dee speak of her generosity, her ability to find beauty in simplicity, and the devotion she poured into every relationship. She found joy in giving, pride in her family, and peace in knowing she was loved just as she loved unconditionally.

In this time of mourning, we gather to remember a bright soul whose legacy will endure in every heart she touched. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on August 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, located at 901 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80226. Dee’s funeral service will follow at the same location from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM.

Though Dee is no longer with us in person, her love, strength, and kindness live on through her daughters, her family, and all who were fortunate to know her. We celebrate her life with tears and laughter, comforted by the precious memories we hold and inspired by the enduring impact of her beautiful spirit.
