Della Marie, Quintana, 88, of Denver, passed away Wednesday morning peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness with Alzheimer. Della was born in Saguache, CO on the 11th of July 1929. Della was a homemaker who lovingly raised 6 children on Ivanhoe Street in Denver, CO. Her house was a home full of memories for her family, friends and neighbors. Her family has memories of her in her kitchen listening to Tex-Mex music making her homemade bunelos, tortillas, and meat and potatoes.
Della loved talking. She would start up a conversation with anybody willing to spend a little time. She enjoyed catching up with her friend and neighbor Celsa Dominguez. Della told stories about her younger days growing up on a ranch, ordering clothes from the Sears catalog, and going to dances. Della was a woman of patience and kindness. She was mellow and always laughing. Her life was her children and special family gatherings at her home.
Della is a survivor of Thyroid Cancer and Breast Cancer. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known her.
Della was the heart of a large, close-knit family. Della is survived by her six children: Susie Gallegos, Thomas (Linda) Quintana, Chris (Dawn) Quintana, Max Quintana, Ray (Jacque) Quintana, Terri (Robert) Morales. Eighteen Grandchildren: Isaac, Brandy, Denita, Colleen, Robert Jr., Christina, Kayla, Victoria, Analisia, Raeann, Max Jr., Julia, Christopher, Aaron, Derek, Ray Jr., Riley, Nicholas.
