Delores Darlene (Witt) Troester, 85, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado, after having a stroke following heart surgery.
She was born January 26, 1931 at the farm home of her parents, Clarence and Sarah (Monie) Witt, east of Traer, KS. Her family moved to Cedar Bluffs, KS where she attended grade school. After graduating from Decatur Community High School in 1949, Delores moved to McCook, NE after graduation and took schooling to become a beauty operator.
On October 24, 1954, she married Norman Troester at the Ash Creek Lutheran Church, Southeast of McCook. The couple lived in McCook for several years then moved to Arvada, CO and later to Lakewood, CO. Norman and Delores adopted two children, Douglas and Jackie.
After Norman's retirement, they moved back to McCook to help care for his mother. After her death, Norman and Delores would spend their winters in Arizona where they made many friends. They traveled all over Arizona and California in their motor home until their health forced them to return to live in Sheridan, Colorado.
Survivors include her son, Douglas; daughter, Jackie (Lance) Fern; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma (Delbert) Lewis of Oberlin, KS; one brother, Eugene (Beverly) Witt of Danbury, NE and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Norman; two sisters, Eilene Jones and Donna Goss and one brother-in-law, Bill Goss.
