Donald L. Ellsworth, age 80, of Greenwood Village CO passed away on
January 13, 2012. Donald was born in La Grange MO to Edwin and Mary
Ellsworth. After attending LaGrange High School he graduated from the
Colorado School of Mines with a degree in petroleum engineering. He
married Ruby Genzler in 1954 and they traveled to Wyoming, New
Mexico, and Texas as Don pursued his career. Continuing his
education, Don graduated from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth
College in NH where he received a Masters in Business Administration
with a specialization in finance. Don went on to work for Prudential
Insurance in NJ and then to Wall Street in New York City as an
Institutional Investment Financial Analyst specializing in the oil
industry. In 1978 he moved to Denver to work for the First National
Bank of Denver.
Don enjoyed traveling, bridge, music of all varieties, and reading.
He was an avid student of military history. Most of all, he enjoyed
his family, taking great pride in his children and grandchildren. Don
is survived by his wife, Ruby, of 57 years; children Donetta (Bill)
Marconi and Scott (Jenny) Ellsworth; grandchildren Sarah, Meredith,
and Samantha Marconi and Catherine Ellsworth; local nephew Chris
(Tracey) Pappas as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and
friends who live near and far.
