Donald "Don" Fuqua

Donald K. Fuqua, lovingly known as “Don,” was born on July 3, 1946, in Denver, Colorado, and left us far too soon on June 21, 2025. A proud Colorado native, Don lived an extraordinary life filled with purpose, laughter, and deep devotion to those he loved.

Don attended East High School, where he met his former wife and lifelong best friend, Cathy Riffel. Their bond, built on mutual respect and friendship, endured throughout the years. He later attended the University of Colorado, earning a degree in psychology—a reflection of his deep curiosity about people and the world around him.

Don and Cathy were blessed with a daughter, Stephanie (Fuqua) Dahl, who remained the center of Don’s world. A loving father and proud grandfather, Don was a constant source of strength and encouragement for Stephanie and his two grandsons, David and Michael. He cheered them on in every endeavor, instilling in them the confidence that they could achieve anything they set their minds to.

A true entrepreneur at heart, Don built many successful companies over the years. His creativity, work ethic, and drive to build something meaningful were evident in everything he did.

Don's sense of humor was one of his most cherished traits—his quick wit and laugh brought joy and lightness to his family and friends. No matter the circumstances, he could always find a way to make others smile.

Above all, Don’s greatest passion was his family. He was fiercely protective, endlessly supportive, and unconditionally loving. His legacy lives on through the values he passed down, the love he gave so freely, and the memories that will be cherished forever.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine (Ruther) Green, his brother, Allen Fuqua, his sister, Shirley Bigham. He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Cathy Riffel, his daughter, Stephanie (Fuqua) Dahl (Cory Dahl), and his two amazing grandsons, David Dahl and Michael Dahl.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
