Donald Wallace"Jake" Jacobs

Donald Wallace "Jake" Jacobs, 90, of Denver, passed away September 14, 2015.
He was born April 16, 1925 in New Virginia, Iowa, the son of Edgar and Sylvia (Woodruff) Jacobs. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. Following graduation, Jake went in the Army in August 1945 and served his country well. After his honorable discharge he entered a trade school for the airline industry and then worked for Continental Airlines for 36 years and retired as a Manager in 1984.
Jake was a long standing member of the Order of the Eagles. He was heavily involved with Boy Scouts, serving many years as an Assistant Scoutmaster. He also enjoyed baseball, golfing, fishing, traveling and camping. He never met a joke that he couldn't make funnier or a song he couldn't make sillier. All kidding aside, Jake put his family first and enjoyed every moment that he spent in their company.
He first married Bertha Lee Swinehart and she passed in July 1965. He later married Zwaantje Vos in August 1966.
Jake is survived by his wife, Zwaantje Jacobs; Five Sons, Edgar R. (Lorraine) Jacobs, Kevin Lee (Teresa) Jacobs, Tracy K. Jacobs, Riyad A. (Tiffany) Khleif and Albert B. (Colleen) Khleif; Eight Grandchildren, Naomi (Kevin) Tucker, Joseph Lujan, Connor Jacobs, Taylor Jacobs, Shantel Khleif, Tara Khleif, Myles Khleif, Alex Khleif; Two Great-Grandchildren, Briaunna Tucker, Kelsie Tucker; Two Sisters, Ellen Taylor, Wyla Loomis; Sister-In-Law, Daisy Jacobs and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by Father, Edgar Wallace Jacobs; Mother, Sylvia Jacobs; Brother, Leonard Jacobs; Brother, Marion Jacobs; Brother-In-Law, Clare Taylor; Sister-In-Law, Pauline Jacobs; Brother-In-Law, Wendell Loomis; his Horse, Old Queen and two Dogs, Mr. Noodles and Kasan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Order of the Eagles, 8800 Federal Blvd, Federal Heights, CO 80260.
