Mom was born on 15 September 1909 in Napoleon Ohio. Her father, Lewis Babcock and mother, Stella was kind people and provided a loving family atmosphere. Grandpa Babcock was a carpenter and could fix most anything. Included in the family was an older brother, Doyle, two older sisters, Lina and Ruth and a younger sister Lucile. Doris was the last of the family to depart this planet and enter the presence of our Savior Jesus.
Mom married Dad, Robert Baker on 20, April 1929 just six months before the Great Depression. Nine months later a son, James was born and two years after that a daughter, Barbara was added to the family. This all happened in Napoleon Ohio but we moved from there in the mid 30's to Florida. There would be many more moves for the family over the next 15 years.
Mom worked all the time to provide a warm home for our family. During WWll she worked in an egg dehydrating plant while Dad was in The Navy. She also spent many happy years working at Children's hospital in Denver. In retirement Mom and Dad liked to travel and made many trips in their small travel trailer. Mom continued to travel after Dad passed on in 1979 after 50 years of marriage. She loved to get on the airplane and go see her friends in California, Ohio and anywhere else she was invited.
Mom loved her children, grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. There are many of these and we have lost count on the exact number.
Mom's favorite words were "oh that's nice". She was the most optimistic person on the planet. We cannot put into this small space the many things that made her the extra ordinary person she was to us and to The Lord. We will miss her laughter but look forward to a glorious reunion in Heaven.
For the entire family,
James Baker (son)
Barbara Sisk (daughter)
