In Memory of
Doris Kircher Imel Roberts
1931 – 2015

Doris Kircher Imel Roberts, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away December 23, 2015, in her home with family around her.

She was born December 9, 1931, in the farmhouse of her maternal grandparents near McCook, Nebraska, the daughter of Gere and Elizabeth (Hackenkamp) Kircher. She graduated from McCook High School and enjoyed reunions with her former classmates.

Doris is survived by three daughters, Lynda Schmidt (Bion Hitchcock) of Sugar Land, TX; Dianne Farrell (Tim Farrell) of Centennial, CO; Cheryl Harrison (Russell Harrison) of Bennett, CO; and one son, Darrell Gregory Imel (Debbie Meyer) of Elizabeth, CO; eight grandsons, one great granddaughter and two great grandsons. Also surviving Doris are three stepsons, Everett Roberts, Jr. (Loretta Dardano); Steven Roberts; Jack Roberts (Doti White); and one stepdaughter, Rebecca Carter (Steve Carter); four step grandsons, one step granddaughter, three step great grandsons and three step great granddaughters. Her beloved Scottish Terrier, Happy, will now be living with Cheryl.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her much loved brother, Gary Kircher; dearest friend and husband, Everett Roberts; and step grandson, Sean Roberts.

Doris was a star homemaker and mother who traveled the world with her children and military husband, Darrell Imel. With her favorite "Traveling on a Dollar a Day" books she planned numerous trips allowing her family to take advantage of opportunities to visit cities all over Europe during assignments in Germany and Italy, as well as in the United States. She became an award-winning Avon representative when the family moved to Aurora, Colorado, in 1969. In 1981, Doris took on the challenge of a full-time career when she studied for and obtained her insurance license. She was a top agent for Farmers Insurance until her retirement in 1994. She and Everett enjoyed an active, fun-loving RV lifestyle and had many friends at Woody Acres on the Texas Gulf Coast where they spent winters. Doris was a loving and remarkable woman who will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Reception to follow the burial at Chapel of the Pines at Fairmount Cemetery.
