Dorothy A. Owens, 67 of Denver, Co passed away on May 12, 2014. She was born July 19, 1946 to Laverne and Alice Finley.
She is survived by sons Joe (Dana) Owens, Tim (Danelle) Owens and Ken Owens; grandchildren Kellen (Dominique), Onna, Preston, Harrison and Caley; great-grandchildren Heaven and Kellen Joseph "KJ"; brother George Finley and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband Joe, her parents Laverne Finley and Alice Weaver, her brother Laverne Finley Jr., and sisters Joyce Bobst and Sharon LaCrue.
Dorothy married Joe in 1964 and they started their family shortly thereafter. She held a couple of different jobs prior to becoming a representative for Avon. This position still gave her the time and freedom to raise her boys and be the good strong woman behind the good man.
Dorothy was an avid bowler and played with the same group for many years. She also enjoyed taking her trips with her husband Joe and the family, whether it be business or pleasure. She helped Joe entertain many clients at the shows they attended around the country. She also was heavily involved with many groups at Montbello Church of the Ascension Catholic Parish, mainly going in on Monday and counting the weekends blessings and getting it to the bank.
Dorothy also loved all of her grandchildren and would make sure everybody knew. She touched the hearts of many and will surely be missed and loved by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dorothy's name to the Denver Hospice, 501 S. Cherry St. #700, Denver CO 80246-1348 or https://www.thedenverhospice.org/giving/Pages/giving.aspx.
