Dorothy, or Dot as she was mostly known, was born on October 22, 1928, in Hemingford, Nebraska, where she was raised on the family farm. Dot moved to Denver at age 16 with her family. At the age of 21, Dot met Rog at the Rock Restaurant and Saloon. It must have been love at first sight, because a mere 63 days later, they were married! Dorothy and Roger were married 61 years this May. After marrying Roger, Dorothy worked from home managing Roger's businesses.
Anyone that had the good fortune to sample Dot's cooking agreed-she was the best! One of those cooks that never needed a recipe, but everything turned out perfectly every time. Her gravy was to die for, and her popcorn balls at Christmastime, were infamous.
Dot was well known by family and friends as the Queen of Scrabble and the Champion of Chinese Checkers. If anyone ever did beat her, it was rare, and certainly something to brag about. Rog and Dot also enjoyed playing Black Jack at home, with their kids and friends. And for quite a few years, they enjoyed frequent trips to Las Vegas.
Dorothy welcomed everyone she know into her home with generosity, and into her heart with open arms. Dorothy is survived by her husband Roger; two daughters Denise (John) Irlando and Carla Oglesby; 3 grandchildren Leslie (Zach), Ashley and Jenna; and one great granddaughter Gianna. Dorothy, Dot, Mom, you will be greatly missed, and loving remembered, by all.
