Dorothy worked as a secretary in Houston for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, J. Weingartens, and for the Fluor Corp. She enjoyed showing off with her office skills. She also became the Mom of the childhood friends and cousins of her children, David Jr. and Sharon. She was their taxi driver wherever they wanted or had to go. Dorothy also became the care taker for her mother, Edith J Hager, after she slipped on ice and broke her hip at the elementary school where she was teaching 1st grade. The Bradley family moved from their house on 204 Lenox to Dorothy's house on 5012 Old Spanish Trail because she had become invalid and confined to a wheel chair.
Dorothy was a loving and caring person. In the Conroe area she lived like a pioneer woman living in a rural neighborhood with cows grazing in the pasture next door and she cared for the neighborhood cats. Lots of cats. She also developed a love for ice cream. When her husband David Sr. passed away she had to move to Denver with her daughter Sharon and son in law Ralph because she started needing care for herself. Eventually she needed some special care so she was moved to Lowry Park Assisted Living and was there till her passing.
She will be missed but, we know she is in Heaven visiting her friends and family she has missed and she is with her Heavenly Father too. God bless you Dorothy.
