Dorothy Lee Trammell, 92, of Denver passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016.
She was born to the late Byrd and Minnie Beasley, August 4, 1923 in Waldo, AR. Dorothy attended Oak Grove High School in Rosston, AR and years later Emily Griffith Technical College in Denver. She married the late Judge Trammell in 1946, and they lived in Magnolia, AR. In 1963, Dorothy relocated to Denver with her children.
In 1965, she enrolled in Emily Griffith Technical College to learn hat making. She was a seamstress for many decades and also worked in food service/hospitality at the old Lowry Air Force Base. After retiring, she worked part time with Seniors, Inc. Enjoyed very much working with older citizens. Dorothy was an active member in the Church of God in Christ since 1963 until her health failed in recent years. She loved to travel and loved social gatherings and celebrations. Before entering nursing care she looked forward to celebrating with the "Red Hat" ladies group.
Dorothy is survived by four children, son, Alvin Trammell (Mary), daughters, Machado Micheaux, Glenda Trammell, Marian Jackson (Glenn) - all of Aurora, CO. Five grandchildren: Lawanda Streeter (Ron) of Aurora, CO, Katryna Swedberg (Chris) of Colorado Springs, CO, Kimberly Trammell, Tyrone Trammell, Chelsea Trammell – all of Aurora, CO. Thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
