Dorothy Ruth Johnson, born Dorothy Ruth Nehrmeyer Oct. 21, 1928 to John E. Nehrmeyer & Rose Lee Pickett Nehrmeyer in Rhome Texas. Grew up on a farm with 3 sisters, Helen (Rhoads), Luella Nehrmeyer, and Ida (Utley) the sole surviving sibling). Moved to Denver area 1943 as a teenager and attended East High. Baptized at the Park hill Church of Christ at age 18. She worked at a drive-in as a server, Mount Airy mental institution, and later as an assistant buyer for the Denver Dry in womens clothing and cosmetics. She met the love of her life Norman (Johnny) Johnson at a dance and married in 1948. They had 3 sons Norman (Rick) Marcella), Mark (Ann), and Dennis (Lori), also 4 grandchildren Darin (Jennifer) Johnson, Sjahna (Jesse) Kurtz, Jeremiah (Erin) Johnson, and Josh (Kyndell fianc'e) Johnson and 7 Great grandchildren along with many extended family members and their children. Her life with Johnny ended with his passing June 22nd 1977. Dottie was able to travel the world over and spend time with a special friend and companion Thomas White who passed away March 25th 2008. The last 3 years of her life were spent living with family. She is survived by all her children and their children. Final resting place for Dottie will be at Ft. Logan cemetery along side of her beloved Johnny.
