Dwight Johnson, 81, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on May 23rd, 2012 after a year long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, daughter Barbara (Wes) Birk, sons Eric Johnson and Matthew Johnson as well as six grandchildren, Benjamin Birk, Timothy Birk, Heather (Donny) Welch, Amberlee (Josh) Olmsted, Nathan Johnson and Nicholas Johnson and two great grandchildren, Kelly Olmsted and Caden Olmsted, sisters Lila Rule and Helen Rohr, stepdaughter Michelle Sander and stepson Nathan Sander.
Dwight's greatest joy was in helping others. He served as a volunteer at Lutheran Hospital for seven years. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial gifts to Exempla Lutheran Hospital Volunteer Program or The Denver Hospice.
