Eddy Borunda

Eddy Borunda, beloved son, brother, uncle, partner, stepfather, grandson, nephew, and friend, passed away on August 11th, 2026. Born July 6th 1996 in El Paso, Texas, Eddy was raised in Aurora, Colorado, where he built a life surrounded by family, friends, and the people he loved deeply. He was a hard worker and was working toward becoming the best version of himself. He wanted to make a change in his life and was determined to keep moving forward. Eddy loved sports, especially soccer and football. He played soccer as a child and was incredibly talented at it. He was also a proud Dallas Cowboys fan. Eddy was the kind of person who could light up a room without even trying. He was funny, silly, caring, and completely himself. He had a way of making people laugh when they needed it most. Family meant everything to Eddy. He cared deeply about the people he loved and was always trying to bring everyone back together. No matter what he was going through himself, he had a way of showing up for others. He was the person who would help without thinking twice and make sure the people around him knew they were loved. Those who knew Eddy will remember his laughter, his humor, his big personality, and the way he could make it almost impossible to stay sad for long. He reminded the people around him not to take life too seriously, to laugh, be happy, and enjoy the moments they had together. Eddy will be remembered for his loving heart, his sense of humor, his loyalty, his willingness to help others, and the joy he brought into the lives of the people around him. He leaves behind his mother, Beatriz Borunda, and his father, Gustavo Betancourt; his sisters, Roxana Carranco, Alejandra Borunda, Perla Borunda, Celeste Borunda, Jocelyn Betancourt, and Nikole Betancourt; and his brothers, Angel Borunda, and Rene Enriquez, He leaves behind his beloved grandmother, Irene Ortega Diaz, his nephews, Jonathan Borunda, Elijah Carranco, and Liam Carranco, and his uncles, Freddy Aguero and Jose Borunda, He leaves behind his beloved fiancé Brittani Santiago and his stepson Eli Gaitan, who became such a meaningful part of his life and the family he was building, along with so many family and friends who loved him deeply. His family will carry his memory forward by loving one another, staying connected, laughing often, and remembering the lesson Eddy gave them simply by being himself: life is too short to take too seriously. He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten.
