Edna Doris Brown

May 28, 1940 — July 29, 2015

Edna Doris Brown took her flight to meet her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2015. Edna was born on May 28, 1940 in Wetumka, Oklahoma. First born to Luella and C.J. Nero. Doris (was the name that she was affectionately called by her siblings and close friends) played the French Horn. She attended South Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona.

Edna was a top seamstress and extremely creative in everything she put her hands on. She put the "H" in Homemaker. Her talent and skills in taking care of her husband and family was unmatchable!! She gave her love and attention to preparing home cooked meals for her family and she kept an immaculate home.

Edna never missed a beat caring for her family and this includes her siblings. Edna truly was a second mother to many. Anyone who was in need of help could come to her with their problems and she would pay close attention to their needs. Edna was a great matriarch for her family.

In her last days...she would always replay the scenes and experiences from her past. Edna would share her life stories to anyone who would listen (making us laugh until we couldn't stop).

Edna Doris Brown married her life long partner in (1961) Master Sergeant Cornelius F. Brown. As a military Air Force wife, Edna traveled the world for 20 years. Together they had 5 sons. They have been married for 54 years. Edna's number one nurse/caregiver was her devoted husband. Edna's sons were her number two caregivers.

Edna was preceded in death by her father C.J. Nero, mother Luella Woolridge, son Curtis Brown, grandson Shanon Brown and nephew Deron Mosley. She leaves to cherish her husband Cornelius F. Brown; sons David (Terry) Brown, Mike (Laquitra) Brown, Mark Brown and Moses Brown all of Colorado; grandchildren Jasmin Brown, Cimone Brown, Avori Brown, Brandon Brown, Dayne Brown, Bryon Blueitt, Angel Lindsey and Derrick (D.J.) Lindsey; Great-grandchildren Jocelyn and Jeremiah Thompson; brother's John Nero, Ollie Nero, Alfred (Danny) Woolridge; sisters Alfreda Woolrdige, Bethlyn (Gary) Mosley; aunt Faye and a host of family and friends.

Special thanks to Carmelita Dumas and Davita Staff.
