Edna "Hattie" Dawson, 90 of Denver, Colorado passed away on September 22, 2014.
She was born January 30, 1924 in Summerfield, Illinois, the daughter of Adolph and Anna (Villhard) Pletscher.
Edna is survived by one son, Bruce Dawson; and three sisters, Wilma Renfro, Alva Beckemeyer and Eva Pierce.
Edna spent her adult life working for various insurance companies, was a member of the National Association of Insurance Women and was a Certified Professional Insurance Woman a title that she carried with pride.
After her retirement Edna wanted to give back to the community, for 4 years she worked at the Red Cross in their braille department that provided braille menus for restaurants in the Denver and Colorado area. When that department folded, she volunteered at the Denver Public Library as a volunteer administrative clerk, and also assisted in the Libraries annual Book Sale.
Edna loved to work in the yard and garden, and in her spare time loved to read, especially light mysteries.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Denver Hospice.
