Edward Francis Erickson

Edward Francis "Sonny" Erickson, 83, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away October 22, 2016.

He was born February 12, 1933 in Tarrytown, New York, the son of Edward and Philomina Erickson.

He was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School where he lettered in football on the team of The Headless Horseman. He attended Bryant College.

Ed honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the Aircraft Carrier Hornet VF-73.

On May 12, 1956, he married Joan.

Ed was interested in writing Cold War-mystery and action-adventure novels as well as English and Roman historical-based literature. His second love after his wonderful wife was his New York Yankees. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. He loved experiencing new and good foods. Above all, he loved his family and his home. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished Papa.

Ed "Sonny" is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan Erickson; Son, Scott E. (Ju-Hung) Erickson; Two Daughters, Cindy J. (Scott) Trude and Joanne E. (Darryl) Tiemann; Five Grandchildren, Devon (Tyler) Luce, Michelle (Stefan) Rausch, Geoffrey (Katherine) Erickson, Emily Tiemann and Olivia Tiemann; 4 great-grandchildren; Brother, Paul "Paulie" (Louise) Erickson; Sister, Theresa "Terry" Jacculuci and Several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by Parents, Edward Gustave Erickson and Philomina Lucia Erickson and Sister, Marie O'Connor.
